FAQs

Good questions.

Something else on your mind? Call 773-536-9272 and our office will walk you through it.

Should my LLC be taxed as an S corporation?
It can reduce self-employment tax once profit supports a reasonable salary, but it adds payroll and a separate return. We run the numbers on your facts before you elect.
When is the S corporation election due?
For an existing company, Form 2553 is generally due no more than 2 months and 15 days after the start of the tax year it should take effect. Late election relief is available in some cases.
Why do I have profit but no cash?
Loan principal, owner draws, inventory and equipment purchases use cash but do not reduce profit the same way. We reconcile the two so you plan taxes on real numbers.
Does expanding into another state change my taxes?
Often. A location, employees or enough sales in a state can create nexus for income, sales or payroll tax there. We review it before you expand.
