What is the difference between my HO-6 and the master policy?
The association’s master policy covers the building and common areas. Your HO-6 covers your belongings, your liability and, depending on the association documents, the interior of your unit.
What is loss assessment coverage?
If the association charges owners for a building loss, such as its deductible, loss assessment coverage can help pay your share up to your limit.
Do I need condo insurance if the association has a master policy?
For most owners, yes. The master policy generally leaves out your belongings and personal liability, and mortgage lenders usually require an HO-6.
I rent my condo to a tenant. Does my policy change?
Usually, yes. A rented unit often needs a landlord-style condo policy. Tell us before the lease starts and we will adjust your coverage.

Let’s match your HO-6 to the building.
