02

941s that miss the W-2s

If quarterly totals do not match year-end W-2s, expect a mismatch letter.

FAQs

Good questions.

Something else on your mind? Call 773-536-9272 and our office will walk you through it.

When is Form 941 due?
By the last day of the month after each quarter ends: April 30, July 31, October 31 and January 31.
How do I know my deposit schedule?
The IRS assigns monthly or semiweekly depositing based on your tax liability during a lookback period. We confirm yours and set reminders around it.
When are W-2s and 1099-NECs due?
Both are due January 31, to recipients and to the government. We collect contractor W-9s early so the 1099s are ready.
We have an employee working from another state. What do we file?
Usually withholding and unemployment registrations in the state where the employee works. We review the situation and set up the accounts.
Can you fix past payroll filings?
Yes. We reconcile prior quarters and prepare corrected returns, such as Form 941-X, where needed.
